How it works
What is red light therapy?
Also known as photobiomodulation, it uses red and near-infrared (NIR) light to stimulate biological processes and support tissue healing and regeneration. It works at cellular level, especially in the mitochondria, the structures that produce the cell's energy.
Photobiomodulation
From light to cellular energy.
Red and NIR light penetrate tissue and are absorbed mainly by cytochrome c oxidase (CcO), a key enzyme in complex IV of the mitochondrial respiratory chain. This absorption influences cell metabolism in several ways.
Cellular biological processes
How to use-
01ATP production
CcO plays a key role in oxidative phosphorylation. Red and NIR light make this enzyme more efficient, ease electron transport and raise ATP production, leaving more energy for tissue regeneration and repair.
-
02Nitric oxide (NO)
Light can release nitric oxide from CcO, where it normally competes with oxygen and slows the respiratory chain. Releasing NO improves mitochondrial respiration, and the freed NO promotes vasodilation and local blood flow.
-
03Reactive oxygen species (ROS)
Light stimulation brings a controlled rise in ROS. In excess they are harmful, but in small amounts they act as signals that regulate processes such as cell proliferation and repair.

therapy devices on the market.
What it is
Red light therapy
Red and near-infrared (NIR) light is applied to different parts of the body: a safe, painless and natural treatment for a wide range of physiological issues.
It uses devices with dedicated LEDs that emit these wavelengths, from handheld units to panels that cover the whole body.
This range means you can choose the right device for each need and get the best possible results.
How it works
What happens to the body during phototherapy?
With effective treatment, cells improve their metabolism and inflammation goes down. Red and NIR light increase ATP production in the mitochondria, the “powerhouse of the cell”.
When cells are stressed, nitric oxide molecules bind and hinder energy production. Light releases them, letting the mitochondria recover their optimal function.
The released nitric oxide has a vasodilating effect, increasing blood flow in and around the treated area, which helps reduce inflammation and pain.
Who can try it
Who is red light therapy for?
It can benefit everyone as a painless option for a wide range of health and mood issues, and is ideal for anyone looking to reduce pain and inflammation or support the body's natural healing.
It is also an option for people looking for complementary alternatives to pharmaceutical or surgical treatments.
It can even be used before or after exercise to maximise the benefits.
LED lights vs incandescent bulbs
Unlike incandescent bulbs, which lose much of their energy as heat, LEDs emit specific red and NIR spectra with high stability, greater efficiency and consistent irradiance. That precision ensures the right penetration depth, a controlled dose and better results.

Skin rejuvenation and healing
A non-invasive way to fight the signs of ageing: it stimulates cell regeneration and collagen production, improving elasticity, firmness, healing and overall skin appearance, with no downtime.
-
Vitality, performance and longevity
Stimulates natural cellular energy (ATP) production, supporting mitochondrial function, recovery and cellular balance. Increasingly popular with people focused on wellbeing, performance and longevity.
-
Pain relief and muscle recovery
Widely used to support muscle recovery, joint comfort and soft-tissue regeneration. Studies show benefits for physical recovery, circulation and muscle performance.
-
Mood and anxiety
Studies show benefits in raising melatonin, which helps improve mood and sleep quality and reduce anxiety. Better cellular function also supports cognitive function.
-
Fibromyalgia
Phototherapy is an option for people with fibromyalgia or post-herpetic neuralgia. When applied to painful trigger points, patients report a significant drop in pain levels.
-
Neurological conditions
It has shown promising results in supporting cognitive function in Alzheimer's and mild to moderate dementia, with improvements in sleep, emotional wellbeing and anxiety, and no significant adverse effects reported.
More power + advanced spectrum
= superior results
Red and NIR light act on the mitochondria by optimising energy production, improving blood flow and regulating cell signalling.
